Jobs I’ve Had

I wrote this terrible quick summary of the jobs I have had.   Here’s what that looked like:

I worked at the renaissance festival when I was 14 it was terrible.  Then I left and went and started working at Taco Stop, which I loved, both the job and the tacos.  Then I got the opportunity to go and work for a Harmon Glass location because my dad was an insurance man and was pretty connected with the whole glass repair dudes.   So then I got fired from that job and I worked at pizza hut and toys r us at the same time.  Neither of those jobs was great.  Financially, I started bussing tables at TGI Friday’s, where I eventually became a bar-back and also a server.  I liked working there even tho people make fun of me all the time.  After that I finished college and got a job at Thomason West in customer service, which was a tough job but I learned a lot about the legal industry and about computer systems.  It’s funny we would always get calls about findaw, a subsidiary company and you really learned to dread those calls because they were always terrible and complicated and it seemed like no one knew what they were doing “down there” (we were on the sixth floor they were down on the 2nd).  Anyhow, I eventually got the opportunity to leave customer service which I VERY much wanted to do but it was to make cold-calls for FindLaw.  This was a good way to get started in the FindLaw sales organization, which lead to me becoming an Account Manager, then a Senior Account Manager with 4 other AMs reporting to me, and then eventually I became a sales consultant in the field.  Which is when my time with thomson came to an end (after 2 years) I was fired for not being able to make my quota.

Then, I asked Chat GPT to re-write it and make it sound like I picked up some meaningful skills along the way.

Early Experience: Renaissance Festival At the age of 14, I began my working journey at the Renaissance Festival. Though challenging, this experience taught me the value of hard work and perseverance at a young age.

Taco Stop Following this, I joined Taco Stop, a job I truly enjoyed. My time here helped me develop a strong work ethic and a passion for customer service, all while enjoying some fantastic tacos.

Harmon Glass Leveraging my father’s connections in the insurance industry, I secured a position at Harmon Glass. Although my time there was brief, it provided me with insights into the glass repair business and the importance of networking.

Pizza Hut and Toys R Us I then balanced dual roles at Pizza Hut and Toys R Us. These positions honed my time management skills and my ability to juggle multiple responsibilities efficiently, even if neither job was particularly fulfilling.

TGI Friday’s My next significant role was at TGI Friday’s, where I progressed from bussing tables to becoming a bar-back and eventually a server. Despite the occasional teasing, I thrived in this environment, developing strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Thomson West After completing college, I joined Thomson West in a customer service role. This challenging position exposed me to the legal industry and advanced computer systems. Handling complex and often frustrating calls about FindLaw, a subsidiary company, sharpened my problem-solving abilities and resilience.

FindLaw Sales Organization Eager to transition from customer service, I moved into making cold calls for FindLaw. This role served as my entry point into the FindLaw sales organization. I advanced to an Account Manager, then Senior Account Manager overseeing four other AMs, and finally a Sales Consultant in the field. Despite my eventual departure due to not meeting quotas, this period was instrumental in developing my sales acumen, leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of the legal industry.
