Things can be really hard.   Whether it’s just life being difficult, or a really challenging problem you need to solve.  But no matter what type of hardship you’re facing, the best response is typically patience & perseverance.

Patience matters because things rarely happen on the timeline we would like.  It’s been said that good things come to those who wait.  Which is a nice generalism.  But what about the good things that have come in your life?  Most of them you probably had to wait for.   We often need to wait for things.  Being patient makes the waiting a little more tolerable.  Because let’s not forget, the impatient person has to wait too.

Patience & Perseverance

Trying to remain grateful is challenging, but honestly, it’s worth it.  Remaining in a grateful state of mind is good for you.  Think about when you feel thankful.  That’s a good feeling. And honestly, that’s a feeling that you can choose.  It takes some practice.  But like… find the good in things.  It’s good for your brain and it’s good for your attitude and outlook.  Think about the times that you feel like you haven’t gotten what you deserved.  That’s typically a very bad feeling.  Sometimes things go really well, and then it can be a little easier to be grateful.  But even when things are NOT good, you can find a reason to be grateful.  LIke, for example, you might have cancer and that can be a real pain in the ass.  Lots of painful treatments and trips to the doctor.  However, you might also live by a really good hospital.  One that other people travel to get to.  So while others might be negotiating hotel reservations and flight plans, you are simply driving home.   Having cancer still sucks, but you can be grateful for the amount of ease that your hospital visits offer compared to people going back to crowded hotels or trying to arrange flights out of a small airport.  Or, worse yet, catching a shuttle up to the other airport.  Yikes.

Be Grateful.

Being present is important.  Again, not always super easy, but worth it.  It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with worry and anxiety.  There’s some really bright quote about letting worry borrow tomorrow’s something something.  I will have to look it up.  Actually, I will plug that into chatGPT which I have been using a little more than google lately.

Be Present.

Remain present.   It’s not always easy to do, but you do not want to lend tomorrow’s worry to today.   Being present means understanding what you can and can not reasonably do at any given time.
